The Annual Picnic for this year for 2018 has been cancelled. It will again be held at Suman Saripalli’s Carmel Farm in Perry KS, near Lawrence, KS, weather permitting.
This is about 20 minutes northwest of Lawrence, Kansas, and an easy ride from Interstate 70 (Kansas Turnpike). A map with directions to the farm should be attached to this email. Members of the Topeka Controline Association, and MECCA (Model Engine Collectors) are supposed to join us, and I hear there will be some control line flying, as well as freeflight at the picnic. The picnic starts anytime you arrive after noon, and lasts until the last person has left. This is a pot luck type of affair, but HAFFA is providing burgers, brats, and the rolls. Call Mike Basta to let him know how many are coming, and maybe what you are bringing, so he can plan the right amount of food.

Last year’s Picnic, held September 18, 2016, was a Success:
We had a great time at the the 2nd annual HAFFA picnic Sunday September 18th near Perry Lake (north of Lawrence).
We would like to thank Suman Saripalli for sponsoring our club with a great location to fly and have a picnic! I would like to thank Mike and Dana for cooking the hotdogs, hamburgers, and “brauts”.
I would like to thank the HAFFA members who brought wonderful sides salads and desserts. Club members brought their airplanes and gliders to fly. Our club would like to thank Dana for timing and running the “Jetco Thermic” freeflight glider contest. We will make this part of our annual contest.
