It is with GREAT HONOR that the Members of the Heart of America Free Flight Association aka HAFFA has continued its tradition of SUPPORTING & PARTNERING with SCIENCE OLYMPIAD “FLIGHT” 2023 local groups.
It’s hoped that this Web page will become an inspiration not only for the High School Participants and their Parents—but also for our HAFFA Club Members to volunteer their time and talents during these 2023 Events.

What is SCIENCE OLYMPIAD “FLIGHT” ?
“Flight” is a Division B and Division C event for the 2023 Science Olympiad season. Competitors must design and fly an aircraft powered by a rubber band with the objective of spending the longest time in flight. It is a combination of various previous flight events, such as Wright Stuff and Helicopter.

As an AMA certified rubber powered model airplane club based in the Kansas City Area, we are uniquely positioned to bring knowledge and expertise to the equation and are delighted to do so. Whether you are starting out or with an experienced team, our members will endeavor to find a way to advance your game a notch.
Knowledge is key to success and model airplane building is no different. These sessions introduce the tools, techniques and methods behind successful aeromodelling that is catered to each individual student’s approach to problem solving.
Sharing the joy of flying a plane for the first time is all the reward that our HAFFA Member’s seek. 👍
