COME JOIN OUR GROUP at our flying field in Olathe, Kansas the 2nd and 4th Tuesday this summer for our OUTDOOR FLYING SESSIONS starting at 6:00 pm and ending when it starts to become dark around 8:00 or so.
We have several members that fly hand launched gliders and others that try their luck at wind-up models. This summer our members will be competing for points they will earn each month that accrue toward winners that are announced at the end of the season in September. Guests and on-lookers are always welcome.
Note that we could always use extra persons to time model airplane flights. You don’t need a special stop watch to record flight times as we have extra stopwatches that you can use. Also most smart phones have a stop watch feature as part of the clock app. Most apps record to a hundredths of a second, which in our setting is a bit overkill—but never-the-less accurate. Or if you own a working stopwatch yourself, put it to good use and learn what we’re all about while having an enjoyable evening of Free Flight.
For our Fall and Winter Indoor Flying Sessions see our Indoor Flying Sessions page.

Below is a Google Map of the Olathe Outdoor Flying Site. The area just to the West of Frontier Trail Middle School is the area we normally use so park just to the East of it in the parking lot. If it appears that no one has shown up—we may have moved our location depending on the wind direction. Click the “View larger map” link in the top left corner to access all of the features of Google Maps.
On some occasions we have been known to fly at the former location of the Great Mall of the Plains.
